Is Google Becoming an Alternative for Hard Work?

Assignments in college are meant to help students get a better understanding of what the lecturer was explaining in the classroom. They have been in play in the education system ever since it was launched. They are quite an effective way to ensure that students go ahead to reflect and research on whatever was being taught in class. In college, lecturers give students assignments to help them earn marks which contribute to their final grade. However, most students in college view assignments as a punishment that is meant to keep them indoors with a pile of books rather than going out once in a while to have fun. As most of them do say, ‘college is four years of fun interrupted by examinations and assignments.’ As a result most of them go ahead to copy pasting assignments from Google.

Plagiarism is the worst academic offence as it clearly shows lack of creativity and poor understanding of concepts. With the advent of Wikipedia and other websites which provide vital information that may be academically relevant, students are finding it very easy to tackle their assignments. With just the click of several buttons on the computer a student is able to complete his assignment, print it, go have fun as he waits to graduate; what other better way of producing half-baked professionals. The misuse of Google, making it a supplement for hard work is encouraged by the ever present WIFI internet connection in most colleges today. Dealing with this problem requires extreme personal evaluating and taming of behavior lest we end up with a rotten future.
